PNP’s PCR goes Global
The clamor became loud and clear more than a year ago when then Chief, PNP PDG Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa accepted the invitations of the Filipino communities in U.S.A.
The Nation’s Peacekeeper’s response to the clamor was a generation of several out-of-the-box meetings with various stakeholders, especially those whose presence are felt abroad – one or two were planned, but most were unplanned – the latter initiated by concerned Filipinos and advocacy groups. There was no other choice but to move forward.
On August 30, 2018, Police Community Relations (PCR) practically spread its wings. PNP has no recourse but to launch Global PCR, connecting Filipino communities worldwide, empowering them, making each and every Filipino virtual ambassadors and ambassadresses of goodwill; going beyond borders to foster understanding and cooperation among Overseas Filipinos, global stakeholders and international Civil Society Organizations.
PNP Chief PDG Oscar Albayalde commended this feat which practically demonstrates the organization’s genuine concern to the safety and welfare of the Filipinos here and abroad.
This program is also supported by our Global PCR Ambassador Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao and Undersecretary Eduardo Año of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The Philippine National Police, through the Police Community Relations Group, celebrated the breakthrough, indeed, elevating to great heights Police Community Relations – that element which is truly “the heart and soul of Philippine policing.”
