The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), in cooperation with the Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Boracay Inter-Agency Task Force (BIATF), leads the much anticipated formal reopening of the crown jewel of the Philippines - Boracay Island - at the Cagban Jetty Port in Malay, Aklan on October 26, 2018. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte ordered the closure of the Island last April 26, 2018. After six (6) months of rehabilitation efforts to bring the Island back to its pristine beauty, the renowned tourist destination is opening its doors again to an excited influx of tourists, both local and foreign alike. #SaveBoracay
